Superman & Lois TV Series, Starring Tyler Hoechlin & Elizabeth Tulloch, In The Works At The CW

The CW is showing new signs of slowing down on DCTV and the Arrowverse. It has been announced that The CW has a Superman & Lois Lane series in the works with Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch set to reprise their roles.

The project will be produced by Greg Berlanti and former The Flash showrunner, Todd Helbing, will pen the script for the potential series. The show is described as revolving around the world’s most famous superhero and comics’ most famous journalist as they deal with all the stress, pressures and complexities that come with being working parents in today’s society. Looks like we’re going to get a glimpse at what it’s like to be a domesticated superhero.

Todd Helbing stepped down as showrunner of The Flash to focus on this project and he will also executive produce alongside Berlanti and his Warner Bros. TV-based Greg Berlanti Productions topper Sarah Schechter and DC’s Geoff Johns. For Helbing to step down as showrunner of The Flash, could mean that The CW can see this new project moving forward to series.

Hoechlin was first cast as Superman back in 2016 on Supergirl and has appeared in multiple episodes of The CW’s Arrowverse and has participated in the franchise’s annual crossovers. Tulloch was cast as Lois Lane in September of 2018 and appeared in last year’s crossover.

This mark’s the second Arrowverse spinoff after the announcement of a female-focused Arrow spinoff starring Katherine McNamara, Katie Cassidy & Juliana Harkavy as the network paves the way for the next wave of its DC Comics franchise.
