Riddle Me This? What happens when Jonah Hill drops out of Matt Reeves’ The Batman? Paul Dano gets to step in and officially nab the role of The Riddler in the upcoming comic book adaptation.
Dano will join Robert Pattinson, who is playing Bruce Wayne/Batman, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon and the recently cast Zoe Kravitz as Selina Kyle/Catwoman. Jonah Hill was at one point circling a role in the film with rumors suggesting it was either for The Riddler or The Penguin, but the deal fell through yesterday.
Dano is one of those actors that has consistently worked over the years but may not be entirely well-known to casual moviegoers. He was recently nominated for an Emmy for his role in Escape at Dannemora & he directed, co-wrote and produced the critically-acclaimed film Wildlife. His film credits include Love and Mercy, Prisoners, 12 Years a Slave, There Will Be Blood, Youth, and Okja, amongst others.
The Batman is scheduled to hit screens on June 25, 2021
