Original Guardians Of The Galaxy Not in Marvel’s Immediate Plans

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 helped kick off the annual Summer Blockbuster season this year. The film was both critically and financially successful and ended with the trademark MCU after credit scene which included a scene hinting at the Guardians of the Galaxy 3000 group’s comeback, however, director James Gunn does not want fans to hold their breath. CinemaBlend recently spoke to Gunn, and the director told the site his sequel’s post-credits scenes didn’t tease immediate story lines.

“I didn’t promise either of those things [the Guardians of the Galaxy 3000 team or Adam Warlock] are coming together in Vol. 3! I am just sowing the seeds for what’s going to be in the future of the Marvel Universe. I mean, we saw Thanos how many years ago? You know what I mean? So I want to make clear that I’m not promising those things in Guardians 3.”

Gunn previously did tell the Toronto Sun he has plans for Sylvester Stallone’s Stakar to pop into future films.

“My plan is to see more of him. I’m not sure about him appearing in Vol. 3. We’ll have to see about that, but it’s our plan to see more of Stallone. Kevin [Feige] and I are working on what is going to become of the Marvel Cosmic Universe and where it’s going to go. We plan to see the rest of them in the future.”

While it may not be what we wanted to hear, there seems to be a clear cut plan as to the future of the Guardians
