It ain’t over, till it’s over. Even though Chris Evans seemingly retired from his role as Captain America with Avengers: Endgame, it’s being reported by “Deadline” that the actor is very close to finalizing a deal to return in the role for a future Marvel project.
According to “Deadline”, the door is being left open in the deal for Evans to return as Steve Rogers aka Captain America in at least one Marvel property with the door open for a second film. It’s unlikely that it will be a Captain America standalone film but similar to what Robert Downey Jr. did as Iron Man in films like Captain America: Civil War and Spider-Man: Homecoming. The news is a little surprising because Evans had seemed pretty adamant about hanging up his shield and moving on from the MCU. According to reports, his stance on this changed in recent months as Marvel began floating around the idea to bring Evans back into the fold. Talks began at the top of the year & considering the great working relationship between Marvel & Evans, it was probably very easy for them to work on making this a reality.
There is no word on how they will bring him back but it’s Marvel & the possibilities are endless. I’m happy to see him return & I’m interested to see in which phase or upcoming film, he’ll be making his return.
