After a delay in production and now with the coronavirus, a change to one of the most anticipated Disney+ Star Wars series has been announced. Disney+ has issued a press release indicating that the Obi-Wan Kenobi series will now see its release on Disney+ in 2022.
Despite the change in date for the Obi-Wan series, the Cassian Andor series is still scheduled to be released in 2021. The official Disney+ press release was announced to coincide with the premiere of Disney+ in France which launched on April 7th.
Since its announcement, the Obi-Wan series has dealt with a few issues which resulted in Lucasfilm stopping production and reworking the series.
Upon release, the Obi-Wan series will see Ewan McGregor reprise his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi from the Star Wars prequel trilogy while the Cassian Andor will see Diego Luna reprise his role of Cassian Andor from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and will follow Cassian in adventures prior to the film.
