Nicole Kidman & Javier Bardem In Talks To Play Lucille Ball & Desi Arnaz in Aaron Sorkin’s Being The Ricardos

Fresh off of writing and directing the critically acclaimed, The Trial of the Chicago 7, Aaron Sorkin is setting up his next feature-film at Amazon which will focus on the lives of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. As first reported by Deadline,  Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem are currently in negotiations to star in the film as Ball and Arnaz, respectively.

Being the Ricardos will

“take place over the course of one production week of I Love Lucy, from the Monday table read through to the audience taping on Friday, all while the pair face a crisis that could end their careers and another that could end their marriage. “

While Aaron Sorkin helming the project, the casting choices leave little to be desired. When Cate Blanchett was attached, I could see her filling in the role well, however, Kidman and Bardem don’t feel like the proper pair for the roles. Only time will tell on how the film will turn out, however, seeing my favorite comedic pairing of all time on the big screen will not be missed.
