Netflix Considering House of Cards Spinoffs

With news breaking yesterday that season 6 of House of Cards will be the last, Netflix does not seem to be  ready to be done with the House of Cards universe just yet. There is a rumor that Netflix is developing what could turn out to be multiple spinoffs of the Kevin Spacey political series. Both Netflix and MRC had no comment.

Several ideas have been discussed revolves around chief of staff Doug Stamper (Michael Kelly) and the journalists and bloggers who have tried to expose the power couple’s criminal behavior, like Janine Skorsky and her former editor Tom Hammerschmidt (Boris McGiver).

Another idea being involves a House of Cards style incarnation set against the backdrop of the Wall Street power brokers that wield enormous political clout behind the scenes, such as Raymond Tusk. One possibility that is not currently on the table is turning House of Cards into a feature film in like HBO did with Sex and the City and Entourage. However, Netflix has little want for putting its show franchises on the big screen.
