Netflix Has Already Ordered A Sequel To Will Smith’s Bright

Netflix must feel confident in the David Ayer directed film, Bright, starring Will Smith, because they have already ordered a sequel to the film.

Set in an alternate present-day LA, the film combines gritty cop movie conventions with fantasy elements. The story concerns a human cop teaming with the force’s first orc officer to protect earth from bad guys who are after a magic wand. The film is a $90 million endeavor and is another project on a growing list of movies that have the streaming giant becoming a larger presence in terms of major motion pictures.

While the audience won’t get to judge the film for itself until Friday, Netflix is still moving ahead with the sequel. Also of note is that Will Smith, who usually isn’t game to immediately jump on sequels, is said to be on board as well.
