Morgan Freeman Cast In Sequel To The Hitman’s Bodyguard

Morgan Freeman has signed on to join Ryan Reynolds & Samuel L. Jackson in the sequel to The Hitman’s Bodyguard. Salma Hayek will also reprise her role in the sequel & Patrick Hughes is returning to direct.

The latest installment, which is slated to begin filming this month, will follow Michael Bryce (Reynolds) who joins Darius (Jackson) and his wife Sonia (Hayek) on a mission along the Amalfi Coast.

The first film was a bit of a sleeper hit when it was released in 2017. The film spent 3 weeks at number one & grossed $75.5 million on a $69 million budget. Bodyguard went on to gross $176.6 million at the worldwide box office.

Freeman was last seen on the big screen in Disney’s The Nutcracker and the Four Realms and up next stars in the Lionsgate Olympus Has Fallen sequel Angel Has Fallen.
