Modern Family aired its final episode after an impressive 11-season run and the series saw some of its best ratings in quite some time.
The Modern Family series finale scored a 1.6 rating in the 18-49 demo and 7.43 million viewers. The demo number is its best rating since its September 2018 season premiere and the total viewer count was the show’s largest viewership in three years.
The series finale also saw its lead-in, A Modern Farewell, which was a look back at the series, pull in decent numbers with a 1.3 demo rating and 6.72 million viewers. ABC followed the series finale with the premiere of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire (1.1, 6.30 million viewers), with host Jimmy Kimmel. The overall performance for the night allowed ABC to finish second in network programming on Wednesday.
