Mike Flanagan’s Latest Stephen King Adaptation Revival Is Not Moving Forward

Director Mike Flanagan has knocked it out of the park with his Stephen King adaptations Gerard’s Game and Doctor Sleep, and it was announced last year that he was also developing a big-screen adaptation of King’s Revival.  Unfortunately, Mike Flanagan revealed on Twitter that the project will no longer be moving forward. Flanagan stated,

Sadly, it’s not. That project won’t be moving forward unfortunately. While REVIVAL and MIDNIGHT MASS both involve priests, MIDNIGHT MASS was conceived several years before REVIVAL was published, and similarities stop at the white collar. Really wish I could’ve done them both!

Mike Flanagan is one of my favorite working directors so while this is sad news, I’m looking forward to the next project he helms.
