Michael Keaton Says There’s No Beetlejuice Sequel

Beetlejuice star Michael Keaton confirmed to Variety in an interview Wednesday that he does not know about plans for a sequel to the 1988 fantasy film.

“You always hear things, that this is happening, and people seem to know more about it than I do. It’s possible that ship has sailed.”

Keaton elaborated that for a sequel to work and rightly so, it should have all the key elements of the first.

“So much of it was improvised, and so much was beautifully handmade by the artist that is Tim BurtonIf you can’t get close to that, you leave it alone.”

Reel readers, would you have liked to see a Beetlejuice 2? Sound off!
