After last weekend’s success of the live-action Aladdin adaptation, Disney is looking to reboot more of its properties and now one of them is eyeing a director. It has been announced that Marc Webb is in talks to direct the studio’s live-action adaptation of Snow White.
The deal is not yet finalized but he’s said to be the top choice to take on the project. Erin Cressida Wilson, who penned the script for The Girl on the Train, is in negotiations to write the screenplay for Snow White, which will expand upon the story and music for the 1938 animated classic.
The music is also getting a modern-day upgrade. Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the duo behind La La Land, The Greatest Showman and Dear Evan Hansen, will write new songs for the movie and Marc Platt is on board to produce.
Marc Webb is best known for directing The Amazing Spider-Man films featuring Andrew Garfield and also helmed indies such as Gifted and The Only Living Boy in New York.
