Angelina Jolie is showing us her evil side in the second trailer for Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, the sequel to 2014’s Maleficent which was a huge global hit.
Jolie and Elle Fanning reprise their roles as the dark fairy Maleficent and Princess Aurora. Judging from the trailer, it looks like Maleficent has control issues in regards to goddaughter Aurora as her wedding to Prince Phillip (Harris Dickinson) nears. The power struggle leads to Maleficent waging war against the Kingdom of Ulstead. The film also stars Michelle Pfeiffer, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Sam Riley, Harris Dickinson, Ed Skrein, Imelda Staunton, Juno Temple, and Lesley Manville.
The sequel is being helmed by Joachim Ronning and it follows the 2014 film which centers around the femme villain from Disney’s classic Sleeping Beauty. Maleficent went on to gross $758.5 million worldwide.
