Love Life Renewed For Season 2 At HBO Max

HBO Max has officially renewed their first original series on its streaming platform. Love Life, starring and executive produced by Anna Kendrick, has been renewed for season two but with a twist.

Since the show was always conceived as an anthology series, season two will focus on a new character and the ups and downs of their love life through New York City. Season two will specifically touch on what happens when you’ve lived your whole life knowing who your soulmate is, only to find out years into a marriage that they really aren’t who you’re meant to be with at all.

Season two is expected to key off certain season one characters’ while Kendrick’s Darby will appear occasionally. Season 1 of the romantic comedy anthology series focuses on the journey from first love to lasting love, and how the people we’re with along the way make us who we are when we finally end up with someone forever. Anna Kendrick had this to say about the series earning a second season:

“It’s been a labor of love working with everyone on Love Life and all who helped shaped Darby and brought her story to life. I am excited to be able to collaborate again with the team on a new character and their journey.”

Every streaming service is looking for their signature hit, especially new ones. Looney Tunes may be tops for HBO Max out of the gate but Love Life has also proven to be one of the most popular original series on the platform. The show performed so well that HBO Max accelerated the release of new episodes to meet demand. The final four episodes of the 10-episode season are available for streaming as of yesterday.
