Lashana Lynch To Play 007 In Next James Bond Film

Remember when most of us thought Idris Elba would be an excellent choice to take on the role of 007 but some internet trolls cried foul simply because he’s black? Well, if these reports are true, those same trolls are about to up in arms because it looks like the new 007 is not only black but also a woman.

Although Daniel Craig is returning for the still-untitled new Bond film, it was reported by “The Mail on Sunday” that actress Lashana Lynch will come in as a new secret agent and take over his famous codename.

According to reports, viewers learn that Bond has retired from the agency at the start of the movie. However, he is reportedly called back for duty to help deal with a new crisis. If the report from “The Mail on Sunday” is true, Lynch would make history as the first black and first female star to take on the 007 role.

You may remember Lashana Lynch for her role as Maria Rambeau in this year’s Captain Marvel. In addition to Craig and Lynch, the 25th film in the Bond franchise also stars Rami Malek, Billy Magnussen, David Dencik, Dali Benssalah, Ralph Fiennes, Rory Kinnear, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, and Jeffrey Wright.
