Lana Wachowski Says The Matrix Resurrections Is Not The Start Of A New Trilogy

The Matrix Resurrections has arrived! The film is being billed as the next chapter of The Matrix franchise, and while fans are excited to be returning to the world of The Matrix once again, some can’t help but wonder if we’ll be seeing more of Neo (Keanu Reeves) and Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss).

While on the red carpet for the San Francisco premiere of The Matrix Resurrections, director and co-writer Lana Wachowski set the record straight on whether or not the film is the first part of a new trilogy.

When asked if The Matrix Resurrections would launch a new trilogy, Lana Wachowski motioned over to the producers of the film and simply said,

My producers are over there. No.

Plans can certainly change, but it looks as though there are no plans for further entries.
