Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom Roars To $15.3 Million In Thursday Night Previews

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom got off to a promising start on Thursday night and while it will easily rule the weekend, it won’t match the opening of the first Jurassic World three years ago.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom earned $15.3 million in Thursday night previews which put it behind the $18.5 million earned in previews by Jurassic World but make no mistake, this is still a very good number on its own. The preview gross for the sequel was on par with last summer’s Spider-Man: Homecoming which grossed $15.4 million and ahead of the more recent Solo: A Star Wars Story, which scored $14.1 million.

The film is on track to open between $130-140 million but we will need to see how the rest of the weekend plays out. The film has already grossed a massive $435 million overseas on a reported $170 million budget, already making the sequel a success.
