Upcoming Jumanji Not a Remake

A few months back, it was reported that Jumanji was being remade with Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart teaming up again. The news did receive backlash as fans felt the beloved film should not be remade. Johnson posted on his Instagram that the film would be a sequel/re-imagining instead of a remake.

“For the record we are NOT making a reboot,” Johnson affirms, despite having previously referred to the film as a “re-imagining” of the original book on which the Robin Williams movie was based.

The Rock has made sure to state repeatedly that he intends to respect Robin Williams’ work and pay homage to it in the new film.

What are your thoughts on the latest news on the upcoming film?
