Jon Bernthal to Return to The Walking Dead in Season 9

In what may be considered the biggest head-scratcher of the day, Jon Bernthal will return to for an episode in the upcoming ninth season of The Walking Dead. The news was first reported by The Hollywood Reporter confirms that Bernthal will reprise his role of Shane Walsh in which he played the first two seasons of the show.

Fans of the show may remember that Shane did not make it past the second season of the show because he died, therefore, the exact circumstances of Bernthal’s return remain unknown, however, the show has had flashbacks in past seasons, which ultimately may be the reason for his return.

Along with flashbacks, The Walking Dead has also been known to play around with reality, in the form of visions and hallucinatory sequences throughout the series run, therefore nothing can be ruled out of that realm of possibility.
