John Wick TV Series On Track For Release After Fourth Film In 2021

Starz gave some info on their John Wick TV series, The Continental, and it looks like it’s on track for release soon after the fourth film is released theatrically.

Starz President and CEO Jeffrey Hirsch had this to say about the series:

“I had a meeting on a season pitch for this yesterday. We like the group of writers, and we’re trying to get it in the right place so it doesn’t interfere with the motion picture. It will air sometime after the fourth movie.”

The fourth film is currently dated for May 21, 2021, and the eventual TV series will explore the origin story of the hotel which serves as a refuge for assassins in the movies. The show was picked up by Starz in January 2018 and comes from Lionsgate TV.

The John Wick film franchise has steadily grown in box office grosses with the release of each film. John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum is the highest-grossing of the bunch, earning north of $171 million at the domestic box office and $326.7 million worldwide.
