Cobra Kai Renewed For Season Two At YouTube Red

The Karate Kid sequel series, Cobra Kai, has been picked up for a second season by Youtube Red.

Not much info has been given about season two but the series, starring Ralph Macchio and William Zabka, will begin production this fall and debut on YouTube Red in 2019. The show has been well received by fans and critics alike with a stellar 100% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes as of this writing.

The pickup comes days after its May 4 debut, with the streaming service noting the first episode has garnered more than 20 million views. The second season will consist of 10 episodes.

The series is set 30 years after the events of the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament and revolves around a down-and-out Johnny (Zabka) who, seeking redemption, reopens the infamous Cobra Kai dojo. It reignites his rivalry with a now-successful Daniel (Macchio), who has been struggling to maintain balance in his life without the guidance of his mentor, Mr. Miyagi.
