John David Washington Joins Christopher Nolan’s Next Film

John David Washington has planned his next move. After his Golden Globe and SAG-nominated turn in BlacKkKlansman, the actor is set to star in Christopher Nolan’s next film.

Not much is known about the film except its release date (July 17, 2020) and that it’s being described as an event film that is similar to North by Northwest. Comparing it to one of Alfred Hitchcock’s very best films should be enough to get anyone excited. The July release date is also a sweet spot for Nolan with The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises making bank during the month of July as well as his last film, Dunkirk.

Washington is one of the stars of HBO’s Ballers, but it is was his performance in BlacKkKlansmanthat earned him critical acclaim and leading man status that would make his father Denzel Washington proud. In the movie, which earned a best picture nomination, the actor played a police officer who infiltrates the KKK.
