Did you ever want to see a film about Jesus in virtual reality? Now you can.
Premiering at the Venice Film Festival, a shortened 40-minute version of Jesus VR: The Story of Christ will make its world premiere as the first ever feature length 360-degree movie. The 73rd Venice Film Festival begins today and will run until September 10th.
Festival director, Alberto Barbera, is pleased to present the film stating,
“We are particularly pleased about the opportunity to present the first feature film in the world made entirely for virtual reality. Jesus VR’ will serve to demonstrate the narrative and dramatic potential of the new technology, which has since been limited to short movies.”
The film is originally 90 minutes long and no word yet on if it will be released in theaters, home video or with particular virtual reality systems.
