After being speculated for quite some time, it has been confirmed that Jennifer Lopez will be headlining the 2020 Super Bowl Halftime Show. While Lopez has long been a name in contention, she will officially be joined by Shakira. The championship game will be held at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium on February 2, 2020.

The singers shared the news on their official Twitter pages, with the NFL confirming the news shortly after. The duo will follow a string of high-profile pop artists who have recently gotten the gig such as Maroon 5, Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and more.
These talks don’t just happen last minute so that means Lopez played it coy back in July when Entertainment Tonight asked her about performing. “Yes, I’ve thought about the Super Bowl and it’s in Miami. It’s a big deal, but we’ll see. They make their own decisions over there.”
This is turning into a banner year for Jennifer Lopez. She announced her engagement with Alex Rodriguez before embarking on her sold-out It’s My Party Tour throughout the summer. Lopez is also getting Oscar buzz for her role in Hustlers which opened two weeks ago to the largest live-action opening of her career.
