Grey’s Anatomy & Station 19 Rise With Disaster Fueled Fall Finales On ABC

No one does disaster like Grey’s Anatomy and with its spinoff Station 19 joining the ranks, it proved to be a potent combination that allowed by shows to rise on Thursday night.

On ABC, The fall finales of Grey’s Anatomy and Station 19 each scored their second-best ratings of the season Thursday, thanks in part to a crossover episode. Grey’s Anatomy drew a 1.7 rating among adults 18-49, up 0.1 week to week. It’s the second-best mark of the fall for the series, behind its season premiere (it had a season high in total viewers with 7.27 million). Station 19 rose two-tenths of a point to 1.2 and 5.91 million viewers, trailing only another Grey’s crossover on October 11. How to Get Away with Murder ended its fall run with an uptick to a 0.8 demo score and 3.15 million viewers.

On CBS, Mom (1.3, 7.92 million viewers), Murphy Brown (0.9, 5.93 million viewers) and S.W.A.T. (0.8, 5.08 million viewers) all rose a little week to week, while The Big Bang Theory (2.3, 12.37 million viewers) and Young Sheldon (1.8, 10.75 million viewers) were steady.

On The CW, Supernatural improved a tenth to 0.4 demo rating and 1.44 million viewers while Legacies held at a 0.3 demo score and 1.07 million viewers.

On NBC, Will & Grace (0.7, 2.93 million viewers) and Law & Order: SVU (0.8, 3.99 million viewers) each recorded series lows. Superstore (0.9, 3.27 million viewers), The Good Place (0.8, 2.66 million viewers) and I Feel Bad (0.5, 1.90 million viewers) were all even with their last episodes.

FOX aired Thursday Night Football and will likely end up with its biggest audience of the season. The game scored an 11.9 household rating in metered markets, the best for TNF in almost two years and up 27 percent from the same week in 2017. It was FOX’s most-watched Thursday telecast in at least five years with a 3.4 demo rating and 11.68 million viewers.
