Get out of the way Shonda Rhimes and Ryan Murphy. Producer Greg Berlanti is making waves in a big way today with the DC Universe pickup of his series, Doom Patrol. This recent addition gives the mega-producer 14 on-air series, a record for most series on-air at a single time.
Last year, Berlanti tied the record with 10 shows on-air which he shared with Aaron Spelling and Jerry Bruckheimer. Berlanti Prods., which is under an overall deal at Warner Bros. TV, saw only one of its eight 2017-18 broadcast series canceled, ABC’s Deception, and added three new ones — God Friended Me and The Red Line for CBS; and All American for the CW.
The news got even brighter today for Berlanti when he got a series order from DC Universe for another drama series, Doom Patrol. The new digital service is betting heavily on the producer, who is behind the CW’s DC universe, with the platform’s two inaugural live-action series that will help launch it coming from Berlanti Prods. – Titans and Doom Patrol.
Berlanti Prods.’ roster now includes All American, Arrow, Black Lightning, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, The Flash, Riverdale, and Supergirl for The CW; Blindspot for NBC; God Friended Me and The Red Line for CBS; Chilling Adventures of Sabrina for Netflix; Titans and Doom Patrol for the DC Universe digital service; and You for Lifetime.
