Black Lightning returned to San Diego Comic Con with striking force over the weekend they brought with them a trailer for their upcoming second season.
Along with the reveal of the trailer, it was announced at their panel that season 1 guest star Jordan Calloway will be returning for the show’s sophomore run as a series regular. In season 1, Calloway’s Khalil Payne, aka Painkiller, was a track star with aspirations of becoming an Olympic athlete but had his dreams cut short when a stray bullet severed his spine during what began as a peaceful protest.
Black Lightning held its own as a midseason replacement, often having a consistent demo score without much help from its lead-in, The Flash. Black Lightning will be getting a full season run in the fall.
