Green Book Crosses $200 Million At The Worldwide Box Office

On the surface, Green Book doesn’t look like a big worldwide box office contender but the controversial Best Picture Oscar winner has performed admirably and crossed a huge milestone in the process.

Green Book has driven past $200 million at the global box office. The milestone occurred on Wednesday when the film hit $77.3 million at the domestic box office and $126.9 million from foreign territories which represents a worldwide total of $204.2 million.

Despite the controversy surrounding its win, Green Book had the biggest Oscar bump since The King’s Speech ten years ago with a gross of $4.7 million, doubling its theater count in North America after its big win.

China also couldn’t be ignored after the Oscars. Green Book grossed a robust $17.3 million in its debut to immediately become the second-highest-grossing Best Picture winner in the territory, behind only Titanic.
