Grammy Awards Down Year To Year

Although last night’s Grammy Awards were generally well-received, the awards ceremony still took another hit year to year but it didn’t strike as hard as it did the 2018 ceremony.

On CBS, the award show drew a 5.6 rating in the adult 18-49 demographic. That’s down just over 5% from last year’s previous demo low. As for viewership, Sunday’s Grammys is pretty much even with last year’s show, pulling in 19.9 million total viewers, compared with 2018’s 19.8 million.

Most of the networks took the night off to not compete with the Grammys but FOX aired original programming for the night. On FOX, The Simpsons (0.7, 1.85 million viewers), Bob’s Burgers (0.7, 1.73 million viewers), and Family Guy (0.8, 1.81 million viewers) returned from hiatus and hit season lows across the board.
