America’s Got Talent is adding some new talent of its own. It has been announced that Gabrielle Union & Julianne Hough are replacing Heidi Klum & Mel B on the judges’ panel while Terry Crews is stepping in for Tyra Banks as host.
The changes will take place during season 14, which is set to debut this summer. America’s Got Talent: The Champions is currently airing on NBC and features judges Howie Mandel, Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, & Mel B, with Terry Crews already serving as the current host.
What’s hard to find is why these changes are being made. Heidi Klum does have other endeavors, as does Tyra Banks, so that could be one of the reasons they won’t be back. Mel B has a bit of a checkered personal life as of late and that could be one factor but I’m thinking the main reason is the Spice Girls reunion tour that she is slated to be a part of. It’s possible that the show will do what The Voice does and switches out judges for each cycle but only time will tell.
