Freddie Prinze Jr. Lands Recurring Role On Punky Brewster Sequel Series For Peacock Streamer

Freddie Prinze Jr. has been tapped for a key recurring role in Peacock’s Punky Brewster pilot opposite former Punky star, Soleil Moon Frye. Peacock is the recently named streaming service for NBC.

Prinze Jr. will play Travis, Punky’s (Frye) ex-husband. While a working musician constantly in and out of town, Travis remains a great dad with lingering chemistry between him and Punky. In the continuation of the popular 80s sitcom, Punky (Frye) is now a single mother of three trying to get her life back on track when she meets a young girl who reminds her a lot of her younger self. In the original series, Punky was raised by her foster father.

Prinze Jr. has been the lead voice in the Star Wars Rebels animated series and video game for the past five years. He is also known for his roles in She’s All That, I Know What You Did Last Summer, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer and the Scooby-Doo franchise.
