After the success of 2018’s Bohemian Rhapsody, the anticipation to this years Rocketman increased. While critically divided, Rhapsody was a huge hit both financially and during the awards season as it lead in wins at this years Academy Awards including Best Actor for Rami Malek.
Rocketman tells the story of the legendary Elton John and had its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival. The film received boisterous standing ovations when the lights went up in the Cannes theater, bringing tears to the eyes of Taron Egerton and John. The first reactions mostly echo those sentiments as the film is receive overwhelmingly positive first reactions.
