Rick and Morty fans rejoice! Writer Mike McMahan brings you a new adult cartoon series with a Trekkie twist in Star Trek: Lower Decks. The show will focus on a group of “scrappy underdogs” who work on the lower deck of a Starfleet ship.
Star Trek: Discovery creator Alex Kurtzman stated that McMahan pitched the series by saying, “I want to do a show about the people who put the yellow cartridge in the food replicator so a banana can come out the other end.” Who can beat a description like that?
You can watch the show exclusively on CBS All Access. It’ll be the platform’s first original animated series and will also be produced by CBS Eye Animated Productions. It’s a great complement to CBS’s other Star Trek shows including Discovery and Picard.
