First Look: Robert Zemeckis’ Allied with Brad Pitt & Marion Cotillard

People got the first look at Robert Zemeckis’ upcoming WWII drama, Allied.

Brad Pitt stars as intelligence officer Max Vatan, who encounters French Resistance fighter Marianna Beausejour (Marion Cotillard) in 1942 North Africa. After meeting while on a deadly mission behind enemy lines, they reunite in London and must fight the threats that may come between them. Allied is a historical romantic thriller and could place Zemeckis in the Oscar race.

Producer Graham King talked up their performances to People:

“It was crucial for Brad and Marion to not only begin rehearsing together before the shoot, but they also spent a lot of time developing their characters with the director, Robert Zemeckis. By the time we got to set, it was really amazing to see these characters already feel lived in and real.”

Allied hits theaters November 23rd.
