Evan Peters Returning as Quicksilver in X-Men: Dark Phoenix

One of the best sequences in the past 2 X-Men films has been the use of QuickSilver. Now it looks like a new scene may be on the way. Evan Peters, who played the breakout character in X-Men: Days of Future Past and X-Men: Apocalypse, is reprising his role as the mutant speedster for X-Men: Dark Phoenix.

Dark Phoenix is also bringing back regulars of the most recent X-Men franchise including Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy and Nicholas Hoult, as well as reuniting the younger actors of Apocalypse, Sophie Turner, Alexandra Shipp, Tye Sheridan and Kodi Smit-McPhee. The film will adapt one of the most important and key storylines from the X-Men comics.

What makes the casting of Peters great news is that despite the fact that Peters’ Quicksilver was not part of the story when it was first told in the comics, the character has become a fan favorite with his appearances in the two previous X-Men movies that it was hard not to bring him back.

Simon Kinberg is writing and making his directorial debut with the film and will open Nov. 2, 2018.
