Empire Tops Typical Wednesday Night

It was business, as usual, Wednesday with Empire, once again, topping the night as Wednesday’s number one scripted series.

On FOX, Empire held onto its 1.6 demo rating and 5.19 million viewers from last week – making it the night’s highest-rated show. Star (1.2, 3.84 million viewers) however, was down from its previous 1.3 demo score.

On The CW, Riverdale took a small second-week dip Wednesday night, falling a tenth from a 0.5 to a 0.4 rating in adults 18-49 and 1.27 million viewers. It was followed again by All American, which saw a smidge of encouraging news by maintaining its series premiere’s 0.2 demo rating and 640,000 viewers.

On NBC, Chicago Med (1.2, 7.64 million viewers) and Chicago Fire (1.3, 7.86 million viewers) fell a tenth, while Chicago P.D. (1.2, 7.02 million viewers) stayed steady. NBC’s Chicago Wednesdays are proving to be a great night for the network.

On ABC, The Goldbergs kicked off a fairly steady night by falling two-tenths from its previous 1.3 to a series low 1.1 and 4.89 million viewers. Modern Family (1.3, 4.99 million viewers) was also down a tenth week-to-week, while Single Parents (1.0, 3.53 million viewers), American Housewife (1.0, 4.18 million viewers), and A Million Little Things (0.8, 3.34 million viewers) were all even with their last episodes.

On CBS, SEAL Team (0.8, 5.53 million viewers) and Criminal Minds (0.7, 4.53 million viewers) inched down a tenth week to week.
