Edie Falco Returning To TV With CBS Series Order For Cop Drama, Tommy

Edie Falco is making a return to television. The acclaimed actress will headline the cop drama, Tommy, which was ordered to series by CBS.

Tommy was the last CBS pilot in serious contention and it now joins dramas Evil, FBI: Most Wanted and All Rise and comedies Bob Hearts Abishola, Broke, Carol’s Second Act and The Unicorn. The series will likely be held for midseason to accommodate Falco’s schedule. The show is also searching for a showrunner but CBS was high on the concept and on nabbing Falco on the network that they went ahead with the series anyway.

In Tommy, when a former high-ranking NYPD officer (Falco) becomes the first female Chief of Police for Los Angeles, she uses her unflinching honesty and hardball tactics to navigate the social, political and national security issues that converge with enforcing the law. Michael Chernus, Adelaide Clemens, David Fierro, Russell G. Jones, Olivia Lucy Phillip, and Joseph Lyle Taylor co-star.co-star.
