Disney Planning To Sell FoxNext Games

Disney is looking to shed another asset acquired from its recent acquisition of most of 20th Century Fox.

First reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Executives are shopping FoxNext, the video game development unit founded by Fox in 2017. For those unaware, FoxNet is known for title such as Marvel Strike Force and Futurama: Worlds of Tomorrow.

The decision to sell the division comes as Disney has backed away from internal development of gaming titles after Disney CEO Bob Iger looked at Disney’s inability to self publish games in the past.  Iger stated,

“We’re obviously mindful of the size of that business but over the years we’ve tried our hand at self-publishing … and we’ve found that we haven’t been particularly good at the self-publishing side,”
