Disney Confirms Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige Will Develop A Star Wars Movie

Kevin Feige has already left his mark as president of Marvel Studios, having spearheaded the MCU into the behemoth it has become today and now it looks like he wants to take a crack at another successful brand. It has been announced that Kevin Feige will develop a Star Wars film for Lucasfilms, Disney has confirmed.

The ball got rolling over the summer when Feige discussed the idea with Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy and studio co-chairmen Alan Horn and Alan Bergman. Disney Studios co-chairman and CCO Alan Horn confirmed the project is in development with the following statement:

“We are excited about the projects Kathy and the Lucasfilm team are working on, not only in terms of Star Wars, but also Indiana Jones and reaching into other parts of the company including Children of Blood and Bone with Emma Watts and Fox. With the close of the Skywalker Saga, Kathy is pursuing a new era in Star Wars storytelling, and knowing what a die-hard fan Kevin is, it made sense for these two extraordinary producers to work on a Star Wars film together.”

The upcoming Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, ends the Star Wars story as we know it so Feige and Lucasfilm president Kennedy will be working on new Star Wars content that will move the universe forward. Not much is known beyond this but given Feige’s pedigree with Marvel, he may be able to take Star Wars to another level.
