After years of negations, Deadpool, X-Men, Alien, Avatar, The X-Files and The Simpsons are all heading to the house of mouse. Disney’s acquisition of 21st Century Fox is finally complete, ending the two long years of paperwork and negations.
21st Century Fox announced the news officially today as Disney finalized the details of its $71.3 billion buy out by Disney. While the news is huge, the announcement was not. The simple announcement stated,
“The Walt Disney Company’s (“Disney”) acquisition of 21CF will become effective at 12:02 a.m. Eastern Time tomorrow, March 20, 2019”
What lies ahead for the former Fox properties is yet to be decided, however, CEO Bob Iger has hinted that Disney would more than likely want to keep Wade Wilson in the R-rated arena, and Kevin Feige has confirmed that he doesn’t plan to use any of Fox’s former Marvel characters for at least the next six months. Ryan Reynolds, seemed fairly upbeat about the Disney-FOX merger, posting this reaction online on Tuesday,

The closing of this deal adds to Disney’s dominance over entertainment.
