Deadpool‘s Tim Miller to Develop Sonic the Hedgehog Film

Deadpool 2‘s recently ousted director Tim Miller has his next project lined up. Miller is set to develop a film based on the Sonic the Hedgehog video game franchise for Sony Pictures.

He’ll team up with producer Neal H. Moritz of the Fast and Furious franchise and the film’s director, Jeff Fowler, to develop the film. It’s expected to be a hybrid CG-animated/live-action film geared for family audiences.

Miller conveyed his excitement about the film, especially working with Fowler, in a statement,

“Jeff is an incredible director with strong story instincts. The world of Sonic presents the perfect opportunity for Jeff to leverage his experience in animation to bring new dimension to this iconic character.”
