One of 2017’s biggest box office surprises is set for a sequel. Sony Pictures has greenlit the second installment of Jumanji.
The plan is to bring back the cast from the successful first installment. The cast included Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Karen Gillan, and Nick Jonas. Jumanji 2 will be helmed by Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner. The first film, which released back in December has become Sony’s highest grossing movie and was the film that took down Star Wars: The Last Jedi from its top spot at the box office. The film had a $100 million budget and grossed $857 million across the world.
The release date or the premise of the sequel has yet to be unveiled.
