From the streets of Haddenfield to Main street, Deadline has reported that Halloween director David Gordon Green has been hired to direct a Disneyland movie about the building of Walt Disney’s iconic theme park.
The upcoming film is set to be written by Evan Spiliotopoulos, who has written Disney projects such as The Jungle Book 2, Pooh’s Heffalump Movie, and the live-action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast. The project is being developed for the Disney+ streaming service. Walt Disney purchased a 160-acre site near Anaheim in 1953 with construction beginning the following year. The park opened in 1955 and has become a destination for many families over the past 8 decades.
David Gordon Green’s next film will be Halloween Kills, which will be released in theaters and on the Peacock streaming service on October 15, 2021.
