David Ayer to Direct DC’s Gotham City Sirens with Margot Robbie Back as Harley Quinn

Fresh off of this year’s Suicide Squad, David Ayer is back to work with Warner Bros. on a new film, Gotham City Sirens, featuring the top female villains from the DC universe. Ayer will team up again with his leading lady villain, Margot Robbie reprising her role as Harley QuinnThe feature film is expected to include Catwoman and Poison Ivy.

The script will be penned be Geneva Robertson-Dworet (2018’s Tomb Raider and Sherlock Holmes 3). Geoff Johns and Jon Berg will produce alongside Margot Robbie, who will executive produce the project.

Additionally, Warner Bros. announced that a Suicide Squad sequel is in development and a spinoff featuring Deadshot (Will Smith). Deadshot and Harley Quinn were the film’s shining stars, so it’s no surprise that their own solo film has been considered.

Warner Bros. hasn’t set a release date for Gotham City Sirens. We estimate its release for 2019 or 2020 based off of their current production schedule.
