A trailer for Crazy Rich Asians has dropped and it could shape up to be a sleeper hit when it’s released in August.
The romantic comedy is based on the first book in a trilogy written by Kevin Kwan. The film stars Constance Wu as Rachel Chu and follows the native New Yorker as she accompanies her longtime boyfriend, Nick Young (Henry Golding), to his best friend’s wedding in Singapore to meet his family. It’s not too long before she finds out that Nick has omitted a few key details about his life, most notably that his family is “crazy rich” & he’s one of the country’s most sought-after bachelors.
The film also stars Michelle Yeoh, Gemma Chan & Ken Jeong & is directed by John M. Chu.
