The first trailer for Detroit from Academy Award-winning director Kathryn Bigelow has been released by Annapurna Pictures.
The historical crime drama tells the tale of the real life 1967 uprising following a police raid on an unlicensed bar and the ensuing riots. The film will release on August 4th, to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the riots considered one of the largest citizen uprisings in United States history.
Detroit stars John Boyega, Chris Chalk, Nathan Davis Jr., Kaitlyn Dever, Austin Hébert, and John Krasinski.
