Christian Bale is heading over from DC to Marvel. The Dark Knight Trilogy star is reportedly circling a role in Thor: Love and Thunder.
Character details, of course, are being kept under wraps but this is a big get for the film if all goes according to plan. Chris Hemsworth is reprising his role as the God of Thunder, with Natalie Portman returning to the fold as Jane Foster, who will also be taking on the mantle of Thor for this installment. Taika Waititi returns to the director’s chair after 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok, with Tessa Thompson also to return as Valkyrie.
Bale is no stranger to the comic book movie world. The actor played Bruce Wayne/Batman in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Trilogy & has stayed away from big franchises since the last film, The Dark Knight Rises, was released in 2012. Bale is on a high right now with the success of Ford v Ferrari, which garnered him a Golden Globe & SAG nomination. His chances are decently high for an Oscar nomination as well, a big feat for someone who is also a four-time nominee and a winner in the Best Supporting Actor category for 2010’s The Fighter.
