Whether we want it or not, it’s here. The teaser trailer for the Child’s Play reboot made its debut theatrically ahead of the release of The Prodigy & now it has found its way online.
It’s a good teaser in the sense that they’re keeping their version of Chucky pretty hidden although I know most were hoping to get a clearer picture of their take on everyone’s favorite killer doll.
Directed by Lars Klevberg from a screenplay by Tyler Burton Smith, the new version of Child’s Play stars Gabriel Bateman, Aubrey Plaza, Brian Tyree Henry, Beatrice Kitsos, Ty Consiglio, and Carlease Burke. Like the original film, it will tell the story of a mother (Plaza) who gives her son (Bateman) a toy doll for his birthday, unaware of its more sinister nature.
Child’s Play hits screens on June 21.
