Castle Rock Cancelled After Two Seasons

A potential third season of  Hulu’s Stephen King anthology series Castle Rock is now a thing of the past, as Hulu has officially canceled the series. The news does not come as a surprise as it’s been almost a year since the second season of Castle Rock concluded.

Castle Rock follows,

“the mythological scale and intimate character storytelling of King’s best-loved works, weaving an epic saga of darkness and light, played out on a few square miles of Maine woodland.” The first season of the series starred Andre Holland, Bill Skarsgard, Melanie Lynskey, Jane Levy, and Sissy Spacek and told the story of Henry Deaver (Holland), a death-row attorney who returns home to Maine for the first time in years when a mysterious inmate (Skarsgard) at the local prison, Shawshank, specifically requests Henry as his lawyer. The second season starred Lizzy Caplan as Annie Wilkes, a budding psychopath who gets involved in a feud between warring clans when she gets waylaid in Castle Rock.”

While Castle Rock has been canceled, Stephen King’s presence will remain on the  small screen as The Stand is on the way and J.J. Abrams is developing Overlook for HBO Max, a horror-thriller series which will be inspired by and feature iconic characters from Stephen King’s The Shining.
